6. Colonial Knob - Reservoir no 2

January 6

We started at the Spicer Forest carpark on Broken Hill Road.

First walk with just Mister 5. It was a bit slow going as he likes to pick up leaves and sticks and wanted to have his picture taken hugging several trees.

It start off in the picnic area of the forest reserve and then you turn off to the right into Colonial Knob Reserve. We then took the first turn to the left. Track follows the stream for a while with a bit of a climb in places. Parts of the track were a bit wet so might be boggy if you came in winter or after rained.

We couldn't actually see much of the reservoir as it was hidden by the trees. You do walk past the remnants of dam construction which is quite interesting to look at. The track climbs away from the reservoir through a strange field full of what looks like dill then you are back into the forest. Quick walk back to the main track, with a bit of a steep climb up then down at the end.

Really enjoyable but short walk.

3 800 steps
